Architecture Summer School
August 1, 2017 10 - 3pm, FREE
What do Architects do all day? Join us this Summer to find out, think about your city and work on a professional architecture brief.
Across the week (July 31st to August 4th) participants will explore communal spaces and reflect on the social impacts of architectural design. The school will be an opportunity to pause and reflect on your relationship to your home, the city and consider your place within it. How are the environments and the spaces we live in are important?
You will begin to build up a portfolio and skills that could contribute to moving into the field of Architecture.
The programme will be delivered by local Architectural designer Sahra Hersi and Artist Educator Laura Owen. It will run from Monday – Friday and conclude in a mini exhibition on Saturday morning where you will get to present and share your designs and work to family and friends.
The week will consist of creative and experimental workshops in model making, developing design concepts, discussion and talks from Architects and an exhibition visit. Students will set up their own studios in the space and be welcomed into the Artist and Architects community at the Old Manor Park Library.
Limited places are available for this programme. It is suitable for young people aged 16-19yrs. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application form.
Deadline for completed applications: Tuesday 18th
