How does this country work?
July 19, 2017 7-9pm, Pay-what-you-can
How does this country work? is a month-long programme of evening classes for people who would like to understand UK politics and find out how they can get involved. The programme has been devised by artists Rosalie Sweiker. Different contributors each week will include: writer Sarah Jury, journalist Imke Henkel, political scientist Ellie Knott, artist Sophie Mallet and occupational therapist Georgia Twigg and you.
It is based on 100 questions, from “How does the parliament work?” to “Why did I never learn anything about politics in school?” (A full list of all the questions can be found here and we invite you to add more by emailing us or tweeting @schweikerosalie.)
This course is for anybody aged 16 plus and does not require any prior knowledge of politics. You also don’t have to be British. Each week there will be different guest speakers and participants will receive a publication with lots of resources and materials.
Book your place here. There is not a requirement to come every week but it is encouraged. We are able to provide childcare on request.
This is a self-initiated and mostly self-funded project by Rosalie. All money raised will go towards admin costs and fees.
